What is astrology? Frequently I am asked if I “believe” in astrology and if I think we have “free” will, or if we are pre-destined. Astrology is neither a religion nor a faith. It is a symbolic, archetypal language used to understand the world at large as well as the world within.
It is the study of nature’s celestial cycles from the universal to the minute. “As within, so
without”, “As above, so below”, are two of the many sayings there are in astrology. Astrology
is framed by both the motion of the sun and planets, and other objects of our solar system, and
their context against the celestial backdrop. In short, astrology uses the relative positions of the
heavenly bodies as a mirror to reveal the stage upon which we, individually and collectively, act.

As this is the March/April issue, I offer a little more attention to the signs of Aries and Taurus.
This year Aries begins March 20. It ends when Taurus starts, April 19. Taurus ends May 20.
With each issue I will say more about the applicable sun signs. Enjoy! P.S. This type of
astrology works for both your sun sign, and rising sign, if you know it.

Aries - Pay attention to the hidden places in your mind. Something that’s been neglected deep
inside wants to see the light of day! Assist this process with delight! Make sure your objectives
for the coming year are sensible and realistic. Seek associations and friendships that are
supportive, not contrary to common goals. Be mindful of what you ask from the universe - be
specific, you’re likely to get it! Listen to your inner voice and allow it to guide you. Patience
and perseverance will be handsomely rewarded! An important partnership plays a more serious
role than you have imagined.

Taurus - How well do you cooperate and truly share? Joint resources, whether physical or
emotional, require review. Long term plans need to be reassessed and revised. Perhaps the time
has come to pursue something more radical in your life? Consider the possibilities and don’t let
fear impede your progress. Both career and domestic issues are highlighted: they demand your
attention. You can accomplish a lot with courage, hard work, and sensitivity to the subtle
messages around you. Stimulating social activity and involvement in creative enterprises come
to the forefront early this Spring. Allow the spirit of adventure to carry you forward towards
your dreams!

Gemini - Philosophical concepts seem more pertinent at this time. Look to the details of every
day life to reveal deeper meaning. Relationships grow and you can develop greater freedom
through intimacy and honesty. While this may not be easy, it is well worth the effort. If you
don’t like the way your partner is behaving, start by changing your behavior first! You’ll be
amazed at the results.

Cancer - Your work environment provides greater choices and freedoms. Your philosophy and
beliefs are changing as you encounter new circumstances. Holding on to old ideas and values
may no longer serve you well or apply sensibly to your life. Make changes where appropriate
and get current. Stay in present time!

Leo - Time for Spring Cleaning! Learn to live simply by letting go of what you don’t need.
Focus your attention on what is directly in front of you. Adventure and romance lurk on the
horizon. Don’t confuse fun and games in your romantic relationships for something more
serious, just yet....

Virgo - Stop playing games. Restructure your life so it more accurately reflects who you are.
Eliminate those things that are obstacles to your progress. This is especially true for crusty old
relationships. Start tying up loose ends now, prepare for the new cycle starting this Fall. Home
is your refuge - make it comfortable!

Libra - Work seems unpredictable these days. Trust that you will have what you need.
Friendships and close group associations come to the forefront. Through them as glasses you
can see if the dreams and goals you have set are achievable. Advice is there for the taking.
Recreation works to enhance self esteem.

Scorpio - Your destiny calls. Career options hold the seeds of advancement or major change of
path. You get to choose. Live by the consequences! It is time to step up to the plate and
become the captain of your own ship. Home life seems a bit blurry around the edges. Have faith
and patience and hold on to your vision. The tree will bear fruit in good time!

Sagittarius - This is a big year for you, Sag! A new twelve-year cycle is commencing. Take care
to move towards meaningful goals serving both you and your community. This is not a time to
be selfish. Don’t take shortcuts or skip steps. The pace of day-to-day life is harried right now.
This is a good time to make your voice count, not just heard.

Capricorn - Slowly but surely your values are changing. They are likely becoming more spiritual
and less material as you encounter new ideas about the world around you. No need to make
declarations. Practice kindness and generosity wisely, don‘t throw pearls to swine! This is a
great time to entertain and stay close to home.

Aquarius - You have exciting opportunities to manifest resources and earn income in unusual
ways. You are now becoming aware of some of your natural talents. Remain true to your
values. Don’t worry, good work will be rewarded. Partnerships require special consideration
and attention. Remember, the commitments you make need to be honored!

Pisces - Keep the faith, its what gets you through. Professional opportunities await your arrival.
Pay attention. Don’t let them pass you by. Recognition is slowly on its way. Hidden
information about you may be percolating to the surface. Welcome it as you would a dear, old
friend! Your body is your temple, make healthy choices.
